Stock up-down vs. Eagles

Here are the weekly stock up-stock down report from the Redskins’ 31-6 win over the Eagles.

UpRobert Griffin III, no explanation needed.

Down—After starting at strong safety for much of the season in place of the injured Brandon Meriweather,Reed Doughty played just two snaps on defense despite the fact that Meriweather went out with an injury in the third quarter.

Up—Even though he missed almost 30 snaps on defense due to an injury, London Fletcher still led the team in tackles with 12. He also had a hand in DeAngelo Hall’s early interception, which set up an early score and set the tone for the game.

Down—Pierre Garçon caught just three passes for a net of three yards in his return to the lineup after a four-game absence.

Up—Meriweather was all over the field in his Redskins debut, making tackles, separating receivers from the ball, and getting an interception.

Down—However, Meriweather left the game in the third quarter with a sprained knee. He said after the game that he will be ready to play against Dallas but we will see if he can get ready on four days of rest.

Up—As Griffin pointed out, doing a “Moss” by jumping in between two defenders to grab a long pass refers to Randy Moss. But Santana Moss jumped up and took a pass away from a pair of Eagles defenders and then broke Brandon Boykin’s feeble tackle attempt and fell into the end zone. His line on the day, one reception, 69 yards, one TD. Not a long day’s work but a productive one.

Up—We were waiting for Perry Riley to have a breakout game and he came through on Sunday. He had six tackles, all of them solo and three of them for losses, one sack, two quarterback hits, and a pass defensed. He hasn’t exactly been in a slump but it was good to see his playmaking skills on display.

85-year-old woman unafraid to coach Kirk Cousins

Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins is always open to some coaching no matter who it comes from. On Friday that coaching came from Veronica, an 85-year old woman who works at Congressional Country Club and is a die-hard Redskins fan.

Cousins posted a picture of the pair together on his Instagram account Friday afternoon.

Veronica made some solid suggestions, especially the one about him getting the ball out of his hands quicker.

Despite the rocky contract situation with the team, there's no question that Cousins loves the passionate Redskins fan base.
