As of 4 p.m. Wednesday, the Redskins were still waiting for word from the NFL regarding any potential punishment for cornerback DeAngelo Hall. But Coach Mike Shanahan said the team is not expecting a suspension, since the most severe penalties are generally handed down by Tuesday.
“They wouldn’t let somebody practice, a full practice, if somebody was going to be suspended for this week’s game,” Shanahan said. “I don’t believe it’s ever happened before. It’s never happened to me.”
The league’s offices have been closed this week because of Hurricane Sandy, but Shanahan doesn't anticipate the storm would affect the timing of an announcement.
Commissioner Roger Goodell, meantime, said on Wednesday that he expects the league to make a decision on Hall’s punishment in the coming 48 hours.
Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins is always open to some coaching no matter who it comes from. On Friday that coaching came from Veronica, an 85-year old woman who works at Congressional Country Club and is a die-hard Redskins fan.
Cousins posted a picture of the pair together on his Instagram account Friday afternoon.
Veronica made some solid suggestions, especially the one about him getting the ball out of his hands quicker.
Despite the rocky contract situation with the team, there's no question that Cousins loves the passionate Redskins fan base.
