Here is what you need to know on this Wednesday, October 10, four days before the Redskins take on the 4-1 Vikings at FedEx Field.RG3 is day to dayAs we reported last night, Robert Griffin III will be on the practice field today as the Redskins begin their preparations to play the Vikings on Sunday. That does not mean that it is certain that Griffin will be behind center for that game. After practice today, Griffin will have to be examined to see if any concussion-related issues surfaced during the physical exertion. If he is determined to be OK, he will be able to practice on Thursday and he will be examined again after that. If he gets through that, he can go on Friday. Another exam will be needed after that the clear him to play on Sunday. So, while Griffin passing the initial hurdle is a good sign but it is only a first step. It is not unheard of for a player to feel fine shortly after being concussed, get through the next few days with no problems and then suddenly symptoms appear later in the week. Vikings a surprising 4-1I dont think anyone thought that the Vikings would come into this game with only one loss; they are the NFLs surprise team in 2012.They are not doing it with smoke and mirrors. Christian Ponder is completing 69 percent of his passes and has six touchdown passes and two interceptions. Adrian Peterson is defying the conventional wisdom by playing at a high level just nine months after suffering a devastating knee injury at FedEx Field. On defense, they stop the run and get after the quarterback.Their record is not built on the back of NFL weaklings. They handed the 49ers their only loss and went on the road to beat the Lions. If the Redskins are going to stop their eight-game home losing streak they will have to play flawless football.Todays schedule11:15Open locker room1:00Practice (closed to the media after first 30 minutes)After practice (approx. 3:00) Robert Griffin III and Mike Shanahan news conferencesIn case you missed itTarik grades the Redskins vs. the Falcons:Offense, defense, special teamsDays until:Vikings @ Redskins 4; RG3s first division game @ Giants 22; Redskins @ Steelers 18; Thanksgiving Redskins @ Cowboys 43
During a chat on the #RedskinsTalk podcast last month, Washington's running back coach Randy Jordan clued in CSN Redskins Insider JP Finlay about the way he teaches his players and the things he wants to see from them.
Now, though, thanks to an exclusive Redskins Nation video, you have a chance to truly watch and listen to how Jordan and his students approach their on-field work.
In this all-access Mic'd Up segment (which was filmed at minicamp and which you can watch in the player above), you'll see the assistant encourage Samaje Perine, correct Matt Jones and compliment Rob Kelley. You'll also hear every grunt, bump and cut, an important ingredient that these types of packages must have.
It's clear from the footage that Jordan cares about the details. Now, don't blow this assignment, and go check out the video above.
Special thanks to Redskins Nation for the video.
Three weeks from right now, Kirk Cousins will either have a new long-term deal or he will be playing on the tag. Which will it be?
Thanks for participating. Feel free to leave your comments here on the site or just respond to the tweet. Thanks.
