After taking some time with the decision Kirk Cousins has signed his franchise tag offer from the Redskins, his agent announced Friday morning.
The franchise tag will pay Cousins $24 million for the 2017 season. Of course, the team can still negotiate towards a long term deal until July 15. After that, the one-year contract locks in.

Signing the tag also allows for Cousins to be traded, should an agreement be struck. The Redskins used the exclusive tag on Cousins, which means the team must grant permission to other clubs in their pursuit of the quarterback.
Named started in 2015, Cousins has thrown for more than 9,000 yards in two years, breaking numerous franchise passing records in the process. A durable player that has started 33 straight games, Cousins guided the 'Skins to the 2015 NFC East title.
San Francisco has been linked to Cousins for some time as a possible trade partner. What their recent signing of Brian Hoyer does to that thought process will be interesting to watch unfold.

During a chat on the #RedskinsTalk podcast last month, Washington's running back coach Randy Jordan clued in CSN Redskins Insider JP Finlay about the way he teaches his players and the things he wants to see from them.
Now, though, thanks to an exclusive Redskins Nation video, you have a chance to truly watch and listen to how Jordan and his students approach their on-field work.
In this all-access Mic'd Up segment (which was filmed at minicamp and which you can watch in the player above), you'll see the assistant encourage Samaje Perine, correct Matt Jones and compliment Rob Kelley. You'll also hear every grunt, bump and cut, an important ingredient that these types of packages must have.
It's clear from the footage that Jordan cares about the details. Now, don't blow this assignment, and go check out the video above.
