LANDOVER, Md.—After a week of uncertainty about the status of starters Jordan Reed and Rob Kelley, the Redskins have announced their inactives against the Raiders.
The storylines leading into the matchup have centered on the matchup between quarterbacks Kirk Cousins and Derek Carr, as well as the resurgent return of Oakland's Marshawn Lynch.

Kelley suffered a rib cartilage injury that knocked him out of the Redskins’ win over the Rams last week in the second quarter. There was hope all week that he could play as he participated in practice on a limited basis all week. He was listed as questionable for the game. His absence means that Mack Brown will be active for the first time this year. He may get some carries in relief of starter Samaje Perine.
Reed also was questionable. He was out of practice on Monday but he was able to come back and go on a limited basis the next two days. The Pro Bowler is one of Kirk Cousins’ favorite targets and his absence will be felt. Vernon Davis will start in his place and rookie Jeremy Sprinkle is active.
Foster was one of the Redskins’ heroes in the win last week, getting the game-clinching interception. He separated his shoulder during the game and popped it back into place and continued playing. Will Compton will start in his inside linebacker spot.
Sunday Night Football on NBC is in Washington, D.C. for Week 3 of the NFL Season as the Redskins (1-1) host the Raiders (2-0) in the most intriguing game of the early season.
The Redskins defense has two weeks of solid play under its belt but will need 60 minutes of elite defensive football in order to slow down Derek Carr, Marshawn Lynch, Michael Crabtree and Amari Cooper. The Redskins dealt with a lot of nagging injuries following their win over the Rams in Week 2. Running back Rob Kelley won't be in uniform tonight and the status of Jordan Reed remains unclear.
That's important, because the Redskins will need to get the offense going in a hurry. Kirk Cousins, Terrelle Pryor and Jordan Reed — if healthy — will be asked to keep up with the Raiders' high-octane offense. A task easier said than done.
The Week 3 Sunday Night Football game between the Redskins and the Raiders takes place at 8:30 p.m. ET on Sunday at FedEx Field in Landover, Md. Redskins Kickoff with Chick Hernandez, Brian Mitchell and Trevor Matich airs live at 7:30 p.m. The trio returns at 11:30 p.m. ET for Redskins Extra.
