Despite testy past, Terrelle Pryor excited to team up with Josh Norman

Despite testy past, Terrelle Pryor excited to team up with Josh Norman

Like many receviers before and after, Terrelle Pryor had some pointed comments before facing Josh Norman in an October matchup between the Redskins and Browns. Going into the Week 4 matchup, which was immediately following Norman's matchup against Odell Beckham, Pryor made clear he wasn't scared of the 'Skins $75 million corner.

"I'm 6-5, 230. I'm not worried about no corner talking about me. Period," Pryor told the Cleveland Plain Dealer at the time.

In the game, Pryor got the better of the two men in the first half, but Norman got the last laugh. The Washington cornerback made a key, late interception to seal the Redskins victory, and the ball was thrown in Pryor's direction.

Now, the two competitors will be on the same team, and that won't be any issue for Pryor.

"I'm very excited, you know, because at the end of the day, iron sharpens iron," the new Redskins wideout said Monday on a conference call.

"I'm not saying whether I'm on his level or I’m not saying anything like that. What I do know is that he's a competitor and I competed against him at a high level. He competed against me at a high level and he's a very competitive guy, a very fiery guy. The opportunity to compete with somebody that wants to be great, I mean, I'll take that every day."

With the departures of DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garçon, the Redskins will need a lot from Pryor this fall. Working against Norman in the offseason and training camp could help that development. Though he had more than 1,000 receiving yards in 2016, Pryor is still learning how to play wideout after being a QB most of his life.

"I'm very excited about that because I know he's going to help me and I can help him because I’m going to compete my butt off. I think at the end of the day that's what helps get your team better."

Redskins activate TE Reed off of the PUP list

The Redskins have struggled on offense in the preseason. The good news is that they are getting one of their best offensive players back to work.

The team announced that tight end Jordan Reed has been activated off the physically unable to perform list (PUP). He was placed on the list at the start of training camp with a toe injury.

At first coach Jay Gruden indicated that the injury would be a short-term problem but as it turns out he spent 24 days on the PUP list.

Reed made the Pro Bowl last year despite missing a total of four games with a shoulder injury and with a concussion, He caught 66 passes for 686 yards and six touchdowns.

His removal from the list means that he can start practicing with the team immediately. Reed would be eligible to play in the Redskins’ preseason game against the Bengals next Sunday. However, given how cautious the team has been with his injury and his value to the offense it seems likely that he will not take the field for a game until the Redskins’ season opener against the Eagles on September 10.

WWE icon Jim Ross really loves Redskins running back Samaje Perine

Redskins fans don't quite know what they're going to get out of rooking running back Semaje Perine, but legendary WWE icon Jim Ross certainly does.

Ross, a University of Oklahoma fan, saw a lot of Perine when he was a star on the Sooners.

Ross recently went on CSN to let the people know what, exactly, they were getting from the Oklahoma product. Here's the list of accolades, in no particular order, that Ross has for Perine:

- Restaurant quality running back

- tougher than a 2$ steak

- a man's man

- all man (which is different than being a man's man, somehow)

- a yard wide (?)

You can see the whole thing here, with Ross coming in at the 1:22 mark.
