For most of his career, Santana Moss has played at a level high enough to warrant consideration as a No. 1 wide receiver. Not blessed with tremendous size, Moss carved a fine resume with speed and precise route running. But now, it appears the veteran receiver may be fighting for a roster spot.

For the first time in years, the Redskins can list a deep receiving corp. Pierre Garçon put up record-setting numbers in 2013, and with the offseason addition of former Eagles WR DeSean Jackson, the Skins have two Pro Bowl caliber players at wideout. Add in offseason free agent signing Andre Roberts from Arizona -- who was looked upon as a potential starter before Jackson became available -- and the 'Skins go three deep at WR quickly.

Further down the roster, Leonard Hankerson, if healthy, has potential and size. If he can play, he likely keeps his roster spot. That's four of what will probably be six roster spots taken. Who gets the remaining two? The 35-year-old Moss? What about Aldrick Robinson, a speedster and project of the Shanahan regime? Or newly drafted rookie Ryan Grant, who has drawn good reviews from new coach Jay Gruden?

Do the Skins owe it to Santana to keep him on the roster? With Roberts and Jackson now on the team, does a player with a similar skillset like Robinson become more expendable?
