RICHMOND—Redskins Coach Jay Gruden said Friday that he does not know whether DeSean Jackson will be able to fully practice when OTAs resume next week in Ashburn.
Jackson injured his left hamstring in practice on May 29. He was limited in last week’s three OTA sessions.
Gruden said he’s hopeful Jackson will practice but he doesn’t want the star wide receiver to risk re-injury.
“I don’t know,” Gruden said, asked when he expects Jackson to return. “Only he can tell you that, and the trainers. They’re working together and hopefully he can go.”
Gruden added: “It’s a little hamstring [pull] and if you rush him back and he pulls it worse, you can damage his offseason program. Just got to get him healthy and see how he is Monday.”
Gruden said he expects running back Chris Thompson (quad) to return to practice Monday after he sat out Wednesday’s session.
