Last month the Redskins claimed defensive end Brandon Moore off of waivers.
It looks like they might be sending him right back on to the waiver wire soon.
Pro Football Talk first reported Moore has been hit with a four-game suspension from the NFL. A statement from the team confirmed the suspension and said it was for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.
Moore is eligible to participate in all preseason activities, including games. However, he was a long shot to make the roster before the suspension and now the odds against him are extremely long.
Moore, 23, is an undrafted rookie out of Texas who is listed at 6 foot 5, 317-pounds. He spent the majority of the 2013 season on San Diego’s practice squad before being released in November. He then was signed to Denver’s practice squad but was released by the Broncos on Dec. 31.
Moore has yet to appear in an NFL game. He will have to wait until at least October to do that.
