Who is the best cornerback in the NFC East?

If you could build an All-NFC East team for 2014, which players would you choose? Over the next few weeks, we’ll discuss the candidates and break it down, position-by-position.

Today, we’re debating cornerbacks. Here are your options:

Prince Amukamara, Giants

Why choose him?

The former first round pick had his best season in 2013, registering 14 pass breakups, an interception and 85 combined tackles. And, at 25, he’s still got some room to improve.

Brandon Boykin, Eagles

Why choose him?

Arguably the division’s best slot corner, the 23-year-old had six interceptions, two behind league leader Richard Sherman. Four of Boykin’s INTs came in the fourth quarter and two clinched victories.

DeAngelo Hall, Redskins

Why choose him?

An aggressive, playmaking corner who can matchup with top receivers and, in the latter stages of his career, is morphing into a team leader. Last season, the 30-year-old notched four INTs, defended 13 passes, forced three fumbles and scored two defensive touchdowns.

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Giants

Why choose him?

Widely regarded as one of the best cover corners in the league, the 28-year-old signed a five-year contract with the Giants this offseason. He’s got 19 INTs in six seasons and he’s joining a secondary that features Amukamara, Antrel Rolle and Walter Thurmond. But DRC has also been on four teams in five years. Read into that what you will.

Walter Thurmond III, Giants

Why choose him?

An important piece of Seattle’s Legion of Boom, Thurmond is now the Giants' nickel corner. The 26-year-old is a talented cover man who defended six passes in 14 games last season and took an INT back for a touchdown.

El-Bashir’s picks: I’m going with Amukarama and Hall as my starters and Boykin as my slot corner (although you could make a strong argument for taking Thurmond over Boykin).

Your picks: Let us know whom you would choose as your All-NFC East cornerbacks in the comment section. If you feel we have forgotten someone, we will consider write-in candidates.

Monday: Kickers and punters.
