- JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts bring a three-game winning streak into their game against a Jaguars team that is 1-7 and tied for the NFL's worst record. Game starts 8:20 p.m.

- NEW YORK - The NHL and the union resume negotiations, the third straight day the sides are meeting in an effort to end the lockout. This week is considered critical for the hockey season to be saved.

- The college basketball season begins Friday with a game in Germany, two more on ships and one with NCAA champion Kentucky playing in a new arena in Brooklyn, N.Y.

- BLACKSBURG, Va. - No. 8 Florida State plays Virginia Tech. The Seminoles can clinch their division berth in the ACC championship game by beating the Hokies and Maryland on Nov. 17. Game starts 7:30 p.m.

- Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin III and the rest of the first-year quarterbacks are making quite a first impression on the NFL. But plenty of other rookies are delivering dynamic performances, too.

- ATLANTA - Bill Curry has spent more than a half-century in college football. He is now 70 and will coach his final game Saturday with fledgling Georgia State, then head into retirement.

- LONDON - Roger Federer defeats David Ferrer 6-4, 7-6 (5) at the ATP finals, advancing to the semifinals with a match to spare. Federer is a six-time champion at the elite season-ending event.

- LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - The year's final PGA Tour event begins, with only one player from the top 50 competing at Disney. The emphasis is on those players looking to keep their tour cards.

- INDIO, Calif. - Five fighters on the least successful U.S. men's Olympic boxing team want to prove they've got futures beyond the games. They make their pro debuts Friday outside Palm Springs.

- CHORLEY, England - Tour de France winner Bradley Wiggins is released from the hospital after breaking his ribs while cycling and crashing into a car.
