SportsTalk Live: Upset says more about Wizards than Heat

In his first three seasons in the NBA with Indiana, point guard A.J. Price started a grand total of three games. Now with the Wizards, Price has started 13 of a possible 15 contests to begin this season and he's coming off his best shooting performance of the year in the win over Miami. Price hit his first five shots, including two three-pointers and finished with 14 points and 4 assists in the 105-101 win Tuesday night win over the Heat. For the year, Price is averaging career highs in points (9.4) and assists (5.1) a game.

Price came to D.C. as a free-agent this summer with the expectation to back up to John Wall, but plans changed when the former #1 overall pick was shut down because of  a sore knee. With no timetable for the return of Wall, the role of Price grows with every game and he hopes he and the team can build off the Heat win. "That game just showed us how good we could be and what we can do on a nightly basis," Price said. "We beat the defending champs. Granted they didn't play their best game but they still are who they are and we beat them."
Although his main role is to distribute the ball, Price has not been shy to get up three- pointers so far this season, often shooting without any hesitation. For the season he's hit 24-71 from beyond the arc good for 34 percent.
Price and the 2-13 Wizards will try to start a win streak at Atlanta tonight. "This is a league where you have to have a short memory," Price said. "We need to understand we can play with anybody and believe that and continue to bring it."
