The Kenner League starts Saturday, as in today, at Georgetown's McDonough Arena. What is the Kenner League? Well, for starters, it's technically called the Nike Pro-City League, though nobody calls it by that name. Considered one of the top summer college basketball leagues in the country throughout its near 20-year run, the Kenner brings together current, former and incoming college players from throughout the DMV and elsewhere. The league runs through August 11, playoffs and everything.

Click here for the schedule, just released 24 hours before the event starts. Please note that the dates, times and most definitely the rosters are far less precise, though we have some information on players from Georgetown, George Washington and George Mason. Players from Maryland (Alex Len last year), American and other schools in the greater DC area also compete. In the past, NBA players Jeff Green and Greivis Vasquez have shown. The when is often anyone's guess.

Georgetown - The team to watch, The Tombs. Why? Rising sophomore scorer D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera might be enough, but then tack on incoming freshman forward Reggie Cameron and former UCLA transfer Josh Smith. How these three develop by next season - and in the case of Smith, when will he play - will go a long way toward determining the Hoyas' fate

George Washington - Team DCX should have a big man advantage most games with the Colonials combo of the springy Isaiah Armwood and the physical Kevin Larsen. Lengthy wing guard and Manu Ginobili disciple Patricio Garino will be one of the few players in the league actually playing defense.

George Mason - If anyone is going to post a jaw dropping shooting performance during or throughout the league, it could be the Patriots' Patrick Holloway. Looks like most of Mason's primary players will participate except for leading scorer Sherrod Wright.
