Virginia Commonwealth University took their trademark “Havoc” defense to a whole new level. In anticipation of Saturday’s matchup with No. 20 Butler, the Rams gave black and yellow shirts to their fans. The majority of attendees at the Stuart C. Siegel Center wore the black shirts, while some fans will wore yellow shirts to spell out “#HAVOC”. The Rams used their full-court defensive pressure to force 20 turnovers, as they blew the visiting Bulldogs away in their 84-52 win.
Big games like this are always a great time to try something new, and VCU’s embrace of both their inimitable style of play and social media is certainly an innovative idea.
