Olympian and renowned marathon trainer Jeff Galloway will tweet training advice from the Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) twitter account @Marine_Marathon on Monday, June 24. Galloway will also answer questions via Twitter with the hastag #JeffMCM from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern time.
In preparation for the 38th MCM on Oct. 27, participants will have the opportunity to communicate with Galloway to gain smart training tips and injury-free running advice.
"The Marine Corps Marathon, 'The People's Marathon,' has a fantastic reputation for bringing runners to our nation's capital to test themselves against the traditional 26.2 mile distance and to discover something about themselves that can only be revealed through such an incredible accomplishment," says Galloway. "I am excited and honored to be returning to the Marine Corps Marathon this October and look forward to seeing thousands of first-time and returning marathoners at the Health & Fitness Expo. While the marathon is still four months away, now is the time to make the commitment to train. Be sure to follow @Marine_Marathon when I take over the MCM's Twitter account."
Galloway is well-known among long distance runners for his Run-Walk-Run method and his innovative techniques have made it possible for any type of athlete to succeed in a marathon. Galloway is also a motivational speaker and uses social media to captivate and inspire his audiences.
Galloway also has a new training video on MCMTV at marinemarathon.com, showing tips on how to prepare during the summer months. Galloway also will be available at MCM Weekend events such as the First Timers Pep Rally on Oct. 25, and he will speak at the MCM Runners Conference on Oct. 26, prior to running "The People's Marathon" with 30,000 fellow participants.
