Earlier today, every opening for the Marine Corps 17.75k was filled after online registration opened at noon. Runners from 36 different states solidified their spot in the run with a guaranteed entry for finishers age 14 and up to the 38th Marine Corps Marathon(MCM).

The uniquely named run is in celebration of the United States Marine Corps founding in 1775. The 11.03 distance will be set through Prince William County, VA. Around eight and a half miles of the run are in the dense wooded area of Prince William Forest Park.

“What a thrilling afternoon this has been to sell out the Marine Corps 17.75K,” MCM Director Rick Nealis said in a release. “Runners, who have anxiously awaited this opportunity, have responded from across the country even quicker than anticipated to obtain their place in 'The People's Marathon.' This is a good day for the MCM and for the running community."

The MCM series includes various other events such as the Run A Muck and Mini Run Amuck mud runs, Crossroads 4-Miler, Turkey Trot 10k, and Kids Mile. For information and registration for any of these events, visit
