News and notes as the Capitals hit the ice today at Kettler Capitals Iceplex:

Still no Neuvy: Goaltender Michal Neuvirth, who suffered a lower body injury when he stepped on a puck during warm-ups Friday night, has been placed in injury reserve retroactive to Friday, the team announced today. He is eligible to come off the injured list on Saturday when the Nashville Predators visit Verizon Center.

Neuvirth [2-3-1, 2.83, .912] was supposed to start on Friday night against Montreal. Goatender Philipp Grubauer, who was recalled from the AHL Bears on Saturday, remains with the Caps.

Still no Laich: Brooks Laich, who is also nursing a lower body injury, made the weekend trip to Long Island, but is not practicing today. That meant the Capitals had no exrtra forwards at practice.
