Home ice advantage?

As the series swings back to Boston the Capitals' playoff lives will be determined on Boston ice --a place the Caps have already found success this season. Despite their 23rd-ranked road record in the regular season, two of the Caps' 16 total wins on the road this season came out of TD Garden, as have two of their postseason victories over Boston in this series.

"We've won there before," said Joel Ward. "We're comfy there and in any building against these guys."

Karl Alzner, however, seems a bit less for precedent.

"We try not to look at statistics like that --even though it's a good statistic for us we just go out there and play," said Alzner.

The Caps met the Bruins twice at TD Garden in March, both resulting in tight wins for the team that was, at the team, struggling just to make the playoffs. That trend has continued into this series.

"We're not going to let them go up there and blow us out of the water like they may think they will on home ice," said Alzner. "It's going to be another dog fight.

"We know when our backs are against the wall we know how to face that now and how to come back, score goals and just play good hockey. It'll be nice to go into that rink with a little less pressure and just go in there with kind of a 'screw you guys' attitude to everybody in the building."
