Fess up, Caps fans. You’re already itching for hockey.

Nearly a month after the Capitals were eliminated from the Stanley Cup playoffs and on the same day the Cup Final commences between the Bruins and Blackhawks, the Caps unveiled their summer lineup today.

On Monday, July 8 the Caps will kick off their annual development camp at Kettler Capitals Iceplex, where the club’s top prospects, including players taken in the 2013 NHL draft, will get a taste of the NHL.

The development camp will run from July 8 through July 13 and will be open to the public. The week will end with Fan Fest on Saturday, July 13, beginning with a team scrimmage at 10 a.m.

In addition to the scrimmage, Fan Fest will feature the team’s annual equipment sale and autograph sessions with Capitals defenseman Steven Oleksy and other Capitals prospects as well as a special free open skate. Season-ticket holders will have the first opportunity to shop at the equipment sale; details on that opportunity will be sent to each account in their planholder update.

The Capitals Convention will return to the WashingtonConvention Center for the first time since 2011. The event has been a tremendous success in its first three years, attracting sold-out crowds of more than 6,500 to the day-long interactive and informational celebration.

The entire 2013-14 Capitals roster will be on hand for the Convention, as well as a number of prominent alumni, including former Caps and current coaches Adam Oates, Calle Johansson and Olie Kolzig. The day will include player autographs and photos with fans.

There will be a wide array of activities on hand such as hockey interactives, panel sessions, hockey displays and much more. Autograph tickets for the event are $40 until June 30 and will increase to $45 on July 1. For a complete list of ticket prices and for more convention information, visit
