The Washington Capitals have recalled three players from their AHL affiliate Hershey Bears, the team announced on Tuesday. Goaltender Dany Sabourin, defenseman Sean Collins, and forward Cody Eakin were all brought up to Washington following the end to Hershey's season.
All three players have been called up to the Capitals at some point this season, but Sabourin has yet to play in an NHL game. The 31-year-old netminder was a former 4th round pick of the Calgary Flames.
Eakin saw plenty of playing time during the regular season's middle months. The 20-year-old Winnipeg-native has played in 30 games this year for the Caps and has eight total points (four goals, four assists). He last played for the team on March 29.
Collins was called up briefly in late October and appeared in two away games at Vancouver and Edmonton. He has three shots on goal and one blocked shot this season.
The three players are not expected to play in games any time soon, but will participate in practice with the Capitals.
