Warren Buffett is a wealthy man. As the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway and a famously successful investor, his net worth is estimated at $58.1 billion. But just because he is extraordinarily wealthy doesn’t mean he doesn’t enjoy sports like the rest of us.
In fact, Buffett grew up a Washington Redskins fan and, while on The Dan Patrick Show on Wednesday morning, said he once dreamed of owning the franchise.
“When I was a kid, I thought if I ever made a lot of money, I would go out and buy a team,” Buffett said. “I was a water boy for the Washington Redskins for two games. I lived in Washington at the time. I thought if I ever had a lot of money, I’d buy the Washington Redskins.”
So would throw around a few of those billions and consider making a run at the team now?
“I don’t know whether [owner Daniel Snyder] would sell,” Buffett said with a laugh. “But Sammy Baugh was my hero in those days. That’s a little before your time. It was the dream of every kid to have a sports team. Well, it was the dream of every kid to be a superstar, but of course I never had a chance of that.”
