Shanahan and RGIII on accountability and leadership

Redskins tackle Trent Williams says he had not been contacted by the NFL about Sunday’s alleged incident with a game official.

Williams said after the Redskins’ loss in Philly that umpire Roy Ellison directed derogatory language toward him late in the second quarter. The NFL was reportedly launching an investigation into the matter.

“I’ve had [players from other teams] hit me up the past few days saying they’ve had the same experience with him,” Williams said.

Asked if he had done anything to provoke Ellison, Williams said: “If I said something [of] that nature to him, it’s at least a flag. Or I’m thrown out the game. I’ve never said anything like that to a referee.”

Williams also said he doesn’t expect to be interviewed by the league at this point.

“They’ll probably sweep it under the rug,” he said. “That’s my opinion, but I’m over it. I’m focused on the 49ers now. That’s the end of it.”

Comcast SportsNet’s Chick Hernandez reported Wednesday afternoon that Ellison will not be suspended and is working a game this weekend.

“It don’t surprise me, if that’s what you’re asking,” Williams said. “Not surprised.”
