RG3 talks about his recovery during the offseason

Pat White will start Thursday’s preseason finale in Tampa and play the entire game, Redskins Coach Mike Shanahan announced Tuesday.

The team’s first and second string quarterbacks – Robert Griffin III and Kirk Cousins – are recovering from injuries and will not be available. The No. 3 signal caller, Rex Grossman, will suit up and play only if White gets injured, Shanahan added.

White, who has appeared in a reserve role in each of the three previous exhibition contests, has completed 15 of 28 pass attempts for 149 yards and an interception. The 27-year-old has also rushed for 83 yards on 12 carries and a pair of touchdowns.

“If [Grossman] goes down, I’m going in,” Shanahan joked.
