So, after a morning of Redskins fans debating on Twitter whether or not it would be a good idea for the team to trade for Darren Sproles the point became moot. He has been traded to another team.
According to multiple media reports, the Eagles have pulled off a trade for the running back, who will be 31 before the NFL season starts. According to Adam Schefter, the Eagles sent a fifth-round pick to the Saints for Sproles.
The Redskins will get to see if they made a mistake in not pushing harder for Sproles firsthand as they will face the Eagles twice this season. Sproles joins an array of offensive weapons in Philly that already included wide receiver DeSean Jackson and running back LeSean McCoy.
