The Redskins are nearing a deal with with free agent wide receiver Andre Roberts, who spent the last four seasons with the Cardinals, a source with knowledge of the negotiations confirmed to CSNWashington.com.
Roberts cannot officially sign until 4 p.m. and details are still be finalized, the source said.
The 26-year-old Roberts (5 foot 11, 192 pounds) appeared in 16 games last season for Arizona, hauling in 43 passes for 471 yards and two touchdowns. In 2012, Roberts caught 64 passes for 759 yards, five touchdowns and 40 first downs.

The Citadel product also has the ability to return kickoffs and punts but was not used as a returner last season.
With Josh Morgan and Santana Moss expected to hit the market and Leonard Hankerson coming off a serious knee injury, wide receiver was an obvious area of need in Washington.
