Snyder to meet with Goodell over Redskins name

Redskins owner Dan Snyder will meet with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Tuesday to discuss the controversy surrounding the team name, CSNWashington has learned.

The meeting will take place in New York, Chick Hernandez confirmed through team and league sources.

Specifics regarding the meeting’s agenda were scarce, but it comes one day before a previously scheduled meeting between the Oneida Indian Nation with senior NFL officials, also in New York. The Oneida National considers Redskins to be offensive to Native Americans and has called for the club to change its name.
