Mike Shanahan apparently lost more than a game in Pittsburgh last month.

According to a press released issued by the Redskins this morning, Shanahan also had an undisclosed amount of money and his passport stolen from the visitors' locker room at Heinz Field during the team's 27-12 loss on Oct. 28.

A report published Nov. 13 in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review said Shanahan “or someone associated with him” withdrew a police report the following day after the $3,700 and passport were found in one of Shanahan’s other bags.

On Thursday morning, however, the Redskins refuted the second part of the story.

“Mike Shanahan did have money and a passport stolen out of his locker room in Pittsburgh,” Redskins director of security Ed Burke said in a statement. “The Pittsburgh Police insisted on filing a police report because of the missing passport.”

“There is an ongoing investigation,” the statement continued. “The missing property was not stowed in another bag as reported.”

Shanahan will meet with reporters after today’s practice but it's unclear whether he'll address the matter.
