Tonight, a new Heisman Trophy winner will succeed last year’s, Robert Griffin III.

The Redskins' rookie figures to be watching the ceremony with great interest, and he’ll also be among the former winners to cast a ballot. According to Heisman.com, 870 members of the media from six regions as well as 57 former Heisman winners own votes.

But don’t expect Griffin to reveal his choice.

“I don’t know who’s going to win," Griffin said at Redskins Park this week. "I haven’t asked any other Heisman voters what their vote was, or who it was for."

He added: “I don’t plan on disclosing my vote.”

This year’s finalists are Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel, Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o and Kansas State quarterback Collin Klein.

“Any one of those guys that wins definitely deserves it,” Griffin said.

If Manziel wins, he’ll become the third consecutive dual-threat quarterback to claim college football’s top honor, joining Griffin and former Auburn signal caller Cam Newton. Manziel would also become the first freshman to win the award.

“I watched [Manziel] beat Alabama,” Griffin said before cracking: “Johnny, he’s an Aggie. But I don’t ever discriminate as far as schools go. A&M was our biggest rival at Baylor, but he’s definitely played really well, done a good job helping his team win. I couldn’t be any more proud of him.”
