Shanahan: "Key is not the yards... it's the points."
Tight ends Fred Davis and Jordan Reed, kicker Kai Forbath, linebacker Brandon Jenkins and reserve cornerback Jerome Murphy will be listed as questionable for Sunday’s game, Coach Mike Shanahan said Friday.
“We’ll get a chance to work out the questionable guys over at their stadium on Saturday afternoon,” Shanahan said, referring to O.co Coliseum.
Davis is battling an ankle sprain, while Reed has a bruised quad muscle.
“Ran some routes, caught some balls,” Reed, who was limping, said of practice. “It felt all right. Still got a little [soreness]. We’ll see what I can do.”
Forbath, meanwhile, did some kicking today but it’s unclear if he’ll be able to suit up against the Raiders.
“Well, he kicked a 48-yarder today,” Shanahan said of Forbath, who has missed the past two games with a groin muscle strain. “He didn’t try anything further than that. Tomorrow we’ll try a little more to see if there’s any tug on that area. If not, he should be ready to go.”
Jenkins had a big bag of ice on his right ankle and said he was able to “do a little bit” in practice. The rookie said he hurt himself while covering a kickoff last Sunday.
“My body feels good but my ankle is a little swollen,” he said. “We’ll see.”
Murphy missed practice for a second straight day after a death in his family.
