Former Cowboys defensive lineman Jason Hatcher has agreed to terms with the Redskins, according to his agent.

Hatcher, 31, recorded 11 sacks, 41 combined tackles and two forced fumbles in 15 games last season. His best effort, in fact, came in the Cowboys’ 31-16 win over the Redskins in Dallas last October. In that contest, he recorded a season-high six tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble and a tackle for loss.

Hatcher (6 foot 6, 299-pounds) also earned his first Pro Bowl berth in 2013.

The deal is reported to be for four years and $27.5 million.

With Adam Carriker gone and Stephen Bowen coming off microfracture surgery, the Redskins entered free agency seeking a defensive lineman who could bolster their pass rush.

And they’ve now got one. Hatcher’s sack total last season was twice that of the Redskins’ defensive line combined. (Nose tackle Barry Cofield led the unit with 2.5 sacks.)

Hatcher, who had spent his entire eight-year NFL career in Dallas, visited Tennessee and Oakland before striking an agreement with the Redskins.
