With Washington's loss to Arizona on Sunday, the Dallas Cowboys have become the first team in the NFL to officially clinch a playoff spot.
That loss came after Dallas defeated Minnesota earlier in the week.
Dallas is 11-1. The Giants lost to Pittsburgh on Sunday to fall to 8-4. The Redskins are 6-5-1. The Eagles are 5-7.
Redskins center Spencer Long left the Redskins game with a concussion and will not return for action against the Cardinals.
Long injured himself in the second quarter and was helped off the field by medical staff. Initially, his injury was called a shoulder issue and he was questionnable to return.
The initial report also said Long did not sustain a concussion. Then, the news came that Long was re-evaluated and determined to have suffered a concussion.
With Long out, the Redskins turned to John Sullivan at center. Both while Long was playing and with Sullivan at center, the 'Skins O-line has struggled against Arizona, dealing with penalties and consistent pressure on QB Kirk Cousins.
In his third year out of Nebraska, Long was drafted to be a guard but converted to center once Kory Lichtensteiger got hurt earlier this season. Long's play has been steady and at times quite strong, a positive development for the franchise.
