With the Redskins’ 2013 season now over, will be keeping an eye on the upcoming college bowl games and the NFL prospects who could be on Washington’s radar in 2014 draft.

What: AT&T Cotton Bowl

Who: Missouri vs. Oklahoma State

When: Friday, January 3, 7:30, FOX

Players to watch:

Anyone who has been watching the SEC this year knows that defenses there aren’t what they were just a few years ago. Still, Kony Ealy of Missouri is happy to have being named All-SEC defensive end on his resume. In the conference title game against Auburn he had five tackles, three for a loss, a sack and two forced fumbles. A team can’t have too many pass rushers but one of the quality of Ealy will almost certainly come at the cost a high pick. If Brian Orakpo ends up leaving in free agency, Ealy will almost certainly be a Redskins target.

Can I interest any Redskins fans in a big receiver with very good straight-line speed? Get to know Oklahoma State’s L'Damian Washington. At 6-4, 205 with a time of 4.39 in the 40, he sure looks the part. Washington has a lot of work to do such as cutting better in his routes and he needs to learn to catch the ball with his hands and not his body. He should be available in the fourth or fifth round of the draft so a team that can invest some time coaching up could have a pretty dangerous receiver in a year or two.
