Positive developments for Redskins' o-line

In what can only been seen as positive development for the Redskins injury riddled offensive line, Trent Williams, Chris Chester and Maurice Hurt all were on the field when Mondays practice got underway at Redskins Park.Williams missed Saturdays practice with bone bruise on his left foot, an injury he sustained when Hurt landed on him during Thursdays preseason game in Buffalo.Williams participated in Monday mornings walkthrough, as did Chester and Hurt.Chester, who has been nursing a sprained left ankle, appeared ready to participate fully in practice for the first time since he was injured a week ago.Hurt, meantime, returned after missing Saturday with an inflamed tendon in his left knee that he presumably aggravated against the Bills. Hurt is filling in for Kory Lichtensteiger, who is expected to miss the entire preseason after having a second procedure on his surgically repaired right knee. The status of all three linemen for Saturdays preseason game in Chicago remains unclear. But it certainly appears the overall health of the much-debated unit is improving.Coach Mike Shanahan might have a status update during his news conference later Monday.

Redskins vs. Buccaneers Live Updates: Week 4 score, stats, highlights

The Washington Redskins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers kick off Week 4 of the NFL preseason with a rainsoaked matchup on Wednesday, Aug. 31 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay.

The game was moved up a day early because of incliment weather and early updates indicate the game is still on, for now.

CSN Mid-Atlantic is providing live udpates from the Redskins vs. Buccaneers game with the latest scores, stats, highlights, weather updates and quarter-by-quarter summaries.

PREGAME:

5:30 p.m. — The official kickoff time is set for 8:00 p.m. The radar in Tampa Bay doesn't look to good just two hours out.

5:40 p.m. — Rookie quarterback Nate Sudfeld is getting the start for the Redskins tonight. Having played his college career in Big Ten country, 'a little rain' isn't a concern.

6:10 p.m. — Oh the joys of television ... and cannons. CSNMA Insider JP Finlay still has some things to get used to.

6:20 p.m. — The game is still on as planned, although the torrential downpour in Tampa could potentially force game officials to end the game at the half.

6:40 p.m. — The final preseason game is, for many teams, the final audition for fringe players. As such, 26 Redskins players did not make the trip to Tampa. Kirk Cousins, Jordan Reed, DeAngelo Hall, Trent Williams and Pierre Garcon are just few of the stars who will be watching the Buccaneers' game on TV.

7:20 p.m. — Weather update: THERE IS A LOT OF RAIN.

8:00 p.m. — OK, it's apparently time to play football, which may be a difficult task to carry out tonight. If you're in the neighborhood of Raymond James Stadium, there are plenty of seats still available.

FIRST QUARTER:

8:10 p.m. — The Redskins receive to start the game. Nate Sudfeld is in at QB. Robert Kelley starts at RB with Rashad Ross and Maurice Harris at WR. Logan Paulsen gets the start at TE.

8:15 p.m. — A healthy dose of Robert Kelley to start. He has been mighty impressive in the preseason.

Tropical storm pouring down rain in Tampa as game time approaches for Redskins (VIDEO)

TAMPA - It's no secret that bad weather is hitting Tampa this week. In fact, the Redskins and Buccaneers moved up their fourth and final preseason game from Thursday night to Wednesday night in an effort to get in front of the pending tropical weather. While the schedule change may help the teams avoid the nastiest parts of the storm, plenty of bad weather has already moved into Tampa.

From CSN photographer Mitch Tischler live at Raymond James Stadium:

A different view - looking over Tampa Bay:

As of 1 p.m., there are no plans in place to cancel the game, and some of the football operations people involved believe that the game will be fine as the bands of rain space out. Lightning and flooding could lead to a cancellation, however, either before the game or once the action stars.

Stay tuned.
