RICHMOND—Redskins linebacker Brian Orakpo did not practice Friday because of a bruise on his right quadriceps. The injury, however, is not believed to be serious and Orakpo could play Monday night if there is no setback, Coach Mike Shanahan said.
“It’s just a contusion were working with,” Orakpo said. “Once it calms down, we’ll see where we’re at.”
Orakpo said the injury occurred during Thursday’s practice when he collided with offensive lineman Adam Gettis.
Shanahan said Orakpo could play Monday night against the Steelers if there’s no setback.
“It’s a little bit tight right now [but] I don’t think it’s anything serious,” Shanahan said.
