Your Tuesday morning open thread:

After three consecutive poor performances, the Redskins’ defense finally put forth a 60-minute effort Sunday, limiting the similarly scuffling Raiders to 298 yards of offense and 14 points, both season-bests for Washington.

Now Jim Haslett’s unit is about to get another boost: starting end Jarvis Jenkins and linebacker Rob Jackson, a key reserve, will return following four game suspensions. (Jenkins was banned for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances, while Jackson was suspended for a violation of substance abuse policy.)

With the Redskins on their bye week, Jenkins and Jackson are expected to play their first game Oct. 13 in Dallas.

So here are today’s questions: How much have Jenkins and Jackson been missed? And who will make the bigger impact upon returning?

Jenkins really came into his own late last season, his first year as a starter, finishing with 25 tackles, including two for loss. Jackson, meantime, notched career highs in tackles (37), sacks (4.5), interceptions (4) and forced fumbles (2).
