Redskins Nation: Thoughts on Haslett staying

The fog of drama that surrounds the Washington Redskins at times borders on the absurd, and this may be one of those times. Last week, Robert Griffin III responded to a fan's question about his appearance on his Facebook page. The Facebook response seemed a bit testy, and RG3 wrote a few paragraphs defending his actions and activities. His response made much sense, and maybe was something that needed to be said. And yet it was an odd format for a player like Griffin to open up.

Was it necessary for Griffin to respond via Facebook? It may be tough to answer, but this problem seems unique to the Redskins and RG3. Doubling down on his actions, Griffin then took to Twitter to reply to the reaction to his Facebook post.

Maybe RG3 owns stock in both social media companies and simply wants to promote usage by any means. Who knows?

Whatever Griffin's motivation, the social media actions seem trivial. RG3 had a rough year in 2013, but is a Heisman Trophy winner in college and an Offensive Rookie of the Year in the NFL. His credentials, when healthy, speak for themselves.

So why would RG3 respond to critics, or even badgering questions? Should he respond? Fans certainly appreciate Griffin's approachability, but maybe the QB should tone it down? Or does Griffin need to be himself, even if that includes odd Facebook and Twitter interactions? Let us know what you think in the comments,
