Redskins eager for preseason opener against Titans
Your Wednesday morning open thread:
Mike Shanahan and Robert Griffin III didn't exactly have dueling press conferences on Monday but they didn't quite seem to be on the same page either. In the morning, Griffin said that he felt fine and that he was ready to participate in 11 on 11 drills in practice. Following the afternoon practice, Shanahan basically said that Griffin is ready when I say he's ready and that the didn't particularly care if the QB agreed with his assessment.
What's your take on all of this? Is there friction in the relationship between the quarterback and the coach? Perhaps friction to the point of there being (dare I say it) a rift? Or is this just business as usual with a young competitor anxious to get on the field but understanding of the need to hold him back after what happened last January?
And what do you think of how Shanahan is handling this? Is this just a case of Shanahan trying to be in control of the situation? Or are there other, legitimate reasons for holding Griffin out?
You can see what I think about the situation here; what are your views?
