Your Thursday morning open thread:

Who has been your biggest (positive) surprise on the Redskins’ thus far?

My top three, in no particular order, are running back Roy Helu Jr., rookie tight end Jordan Reed and cornerback DeAngelo Hall. Let’s take a close a closer look at their production after six games:

  • Helu, finally healthy after a couple of injury-plagued seasons, has 129 yards rushing, 131 yards receiving and a team-leading four touchdowns on the ground. He also has an eye-popping 105 yards after the catch.
  • Some expected Reed to get off to a slow start since he missed the entire offseason recovering from a leg injury. That hasn’t happened. In only five games, the rookie ranks second on the team in receiving yards (298), receptions (26), receiving first downs (16) and catches of 20 or more yards (3).
  • In the offseason, Hall agreed to a pay cut of almost $6 million. Ironically, he’s been one of the team’s most valuable players. He’s returned a fumble for a touchdown, an interception for a touchdown and has defended a team-high six passes. He’s also played well against some of the game’s top wide receivers, including Calvin Johnson (115 yards, one touchdown), Dez Bryant (36 yards, no touchdowns) and Brandon Marshall (75 yards, no touchdowns).

Did I leave anyone off the list?

Who you got?
