OPEN THREAD: Does RG3 need the knee brace?

In his football playing career, Robert Griffin III has blown out his knee twice. The latest came in the 2012 season, a crippling blow that Griffin returned from in less than a year. Following the injury, Griffin wore a bulky knee brace that he thinks limited his play. Now, Griffin is done wearing the brace.

But does any of it matter?

If the knee is healthy enough for Griffin to play, does the brace make a difference? Could a knee brace actually slow RG3 down? Or is the mental aspect what slows Griffin down? If he believes the knee brace is a problem, then it actually proves to be a problem. Maybe?

What is certain is that Griffin's play suffered in 2013. Most would argue that Griffin rushed his rehab from the 2012 injury and did not have enough practice time. Few would argue the knee brace was the issue. So with no brace in 2014, and a full summer of offseason work, will RG3 get back to the level of play he showed in his rookie season?
