Special teams have been a mess for the Redskins all season, and few areas have been as bad as punt returns. To stop the bleeding, Washington will turn to veteran wide receiver Santana Moss as punt returner for the Monday night matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.
At points in his 13 year career, Moss has been a valuable weapon as a punt returner, though Moss last registered extensive action returning punts in 2009.
The Skins also plan to deploy Niles Paul at fullback against the Niners. The move comes in response to starting fullback Darrel Young landing on the inactive list with a hamstring strain.
