Shanahan has assembled a squad of consummate pros
The Redskins placed cornerback Josh Wilson on the preseason physically unable to perform (PUP) list, though that didn't last long.
The Redskins confirmed the placing of Wilson and two others on the PUP via press release. However, after practice Wilson tweeted the following:
Well people i enjoyed my time on PUP, now time to get back to the action #clearedforaction— Josh Wilson (@TheJoshWilson) July 25, 2013
Wilson, who battled a shoulder injury the second half of 2012, had surgery to repair a torn labrum after the season. The 28-year-old did not participate in the team’s offseason program while recovering.
Meantime, offensive lineman Maurice Hurt (knee) and defensive end Adam Carriker (quadriceps tendon) will also begin camp on the PUP list.
Hurt had his knee scoped in late May, while Carriker is scheduled to have a third surgery on his right leg.
Players who are placed on the preseason PUP list cannot practice with the team. They can, however, be removed from the PUP list and assigned to the active roster at any time.
