Everyone knew it was coming, yet the result still looks jarring: A healthy Robert Griffin III landed on the Washington Redskins inactive list for the Atlanta Falcons game.
Benching Griffin became national news when Redskins coach Mike Shanahan announced the decision earlier this week. The coach cited RG3's health as the main reason to sit the second-year quarterback.
Kirk Cousins will get the start against the Falcons, only his second start in the NFL. Last year Cousins started against the Cleveland Browns as Griffin nursed a knee injury, and Cousins played well in a win. But in other relief opportunities for Griffin this season, Cousins has not looked very accurate.

If Cousins can play well in the remaining three games for the Redskins, he could become a valuable trade chip for the organization.
