Haslett breaks down the improved Bears' offense

Redskins Post Game Live

DeAngelo Hall had his best game of the season Sunday night, recording seven combined tackles while also locking down Dallas’ best playmaker.

In the Redskins' 31-16 loss, Hall played a major role in limiting Dez Bryant to five receptions, no touchdowns and only 36 yards—his lowest total in five games. Hall also tipped away a pass in the end zone just before the ball landed in Miles Austin’s hands, keeping the Redskins within five points late.

Now, defensive coordinator Jim Haslett wants to see that type of performance from Hall every week.

“I thought DeAngelo played a heck of a game last week and this another opportunity for him to shine,” Haslett said, referring to facing the Bears’ Jay Cutler.

The last time Hall faced Cutler, the Redskins’ corner made four interceptions in a 17-14 victory three seasons ago. When the teams meet again Sunday at FedEx Field, Hall will face a resurgent Cutler and an impressive corps of receivers highlighted by Brandon Marshall, Ashlon Jeffery and Martellus Bennett.

“He showed that he could do it against a really, really, really great receiver [Dallas’ Dez Bryant],” Haslett said of Hall. “Now we saw it on a tape, I want to see it every week now. If you do it one time, why can’t you do it every week?"

Asked if he believes Hall “gets up” for high-profile matchups, Haslett disagreed.

“I don’t think it’s that,” Haslett said. “I just think he had a heck of a game.”
