Shanahan on Hankerson: "I didn't have a good feeling"

Wide receiver Leonard Hankerson will miss the remainder of the season because of a knee injury, Coach Mike Shanahan said Wednesday.

Hankerson said via Twitter that he’s scheduled to have surgery to repair the LCL in his left knee on Thursday. The third-year receiver had his rookie season ended by a hip injury that required surgery.

“I would say usually an LCL, just guessing from what you were talking about with Robert [Griffin III], it will be a few months,” Shanahan said. The Coach said the injury occurred when an Eagles’ defensive lineman made a late hit on Hankerson.

With Hankerson sidelined, Josh Morgan will return to the lineup and start in his place, Shanahan said.

Tight end Jordan Reed (concussion), defensive end Stephen Bowen (right knee), cornerback Josh Wilson (toe) and safety Jose Gumbs also did not practice.
