Take a break from college hoops for a few minutes and catch up on some Redskins’ tidbits you may have missed, okay? Good. Promise we’ll be brief.

  • As previously reported, former Tampa Bay offensive tackle Donald Penn is at Redskins Park for a visit. No update yet as to whether he’s been offered a contract, but he confirmed via Twitter that he’s in town and excited about possibly reuniting with Raheem Morris. The question, it seems, is whether Penn wants to be paid like a left tackle (where he lined up with the Bucs) or a right tackle (the job he would likely have with the Skins).
  • Speaking of the O-line, The Denver Post is reporting that former Redskins center Will Montgomery is set to visit the Broncos. If he signs, it’s expected that he’ll replace Manny Ramirez and Ramirez will slide over to guard. Montgomery was released Friday with a failed physical designation. Broncos Coach John Fox was in Carolina when the Panthers drafted Montgomery in 2006.
  • Nothing new to report about safety Ryan Clark, who visited with coaches at Redskins Park on Thursday. A source tells me that discussions are “ongoing” but declined to characterize the negotiations. Sounds like the player, who turns 35 in October and has a pretty good gig as an analyst with ESPN, may be seeking more than the team is willing to pay.
  • Former Cowboys defensive end Anthony Spencer, who missed all but one game last season after undergoing microfracture surgery on his knee, was scheduled to meet with the Giants on Sunday. He visited the Redskins on Thursday.
  • Former Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt could visit the Redskins this week, according to NFL Network’s Albert Breer. Britt has already met with the Rams and he visited the Patriots today, Breer wrote on Twitter. Britt, 25, comes with baggage. But he also comes size (6 foot 3, 223-pounds) and a lot of unrealized potential.

Okay, you can return to your regularly scheduled Selection Sunday programming.
