Kai Forbath is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game after tweaking a groin muscle, Coach Mike Shanahan said on Friday.
Forbath began feeling a twinge in his leg during practice on Thursday, according to Shanahan, who added that the team plans to try out potential replacements at Redskins Park later Friday.
John Potter, who spent the offseason with the Redskins before being released late last month, is a candidate, Shanahan said.
Shanahan also said the plan is to have Forbath kick on Saturday morning before making a decision.
“He’ll kick, see how it feels,” Shanahan said. “Only he knows how it really feels. We’ll get some treatment today and kick tomorrow, see where he’s at.”
The soreness Forbath first experienced on Thursday worsened on Friday.
“Yesterday he said his groin was a little bit sore,” Shanahan said. “He got a little treatment. They didn’t think it was anything, but a [it was] a little bit more sore today. That’s why we have him listed as questionable.”
