Donovan McNabb seems to relish opportunities to discuss the Redskins struggles, and he did not hold back following Washington's 27-6 beat down at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers. McNabb questioned why Skins head coach Mike Shanahan would not take responsibility for his team's poor play during an appearance on Fox Sports Live.

The most damning quote from McNabb came when saying that Shanahan not only refuses to take blame when things go bad, but that the coach finds a scapegoat. For the Redskins this season, McNabb said that Shanahan is using Robert Griffin III as his scapegoat.

"There's a scapegoat in every situation, and who's the scapegoat? Robert Griffin," McNabb said.

More from McNabb, who only played one season in Washington, on the "Shanahan way":

"This is something that I’ve seen, obviously, when I was in Washington and I’ve been seeing it since I left, at what point as a head coach are you gonna say, ‘I need to get the guys prepared. It’s my fault. We didn’t play well, I’ll make sure that we’re ready tomorrow,'" McNabb said. "This is something that’s been a problem, even since when I was there, when things go wrong."
