The hit that sidelined Redskins cornerback David Amerson last week against Dallas proved to be dirty, at least that's what a $21,000 fine suggests.

Dallas linebacker Cameron Lawrence delivered the blow on Amerson, and CSN Washington's Tarik El-Bashir confirmed Lawrence will be fined with a league source.

Lawrence delivered the blindside block on Amerson during a 90-yard punt return for a touchdown by the Cowboys Dwayne Harris. There was no penalty called for Lawrence's hit, however, the Redskins were flagged when an official made contact with special teams coach Keith Burns.

Many Redskins fans thought Lawrence's blindside hit on Amerson warranted a flag on the play, which would have negated the punt return touchdown. Lawrence plans to appeal the fine.

Amerson, per NFL concussion protocol, has been limited in practice this week but has told the media he feels fine from last week's hit.
