Another Tuesday finds more Redskins up for weekly awards.
Alfred Morris is usually overshadowed by the rookie teammate who hands the ball to him. But he is up for the Pepsi Max Rookie of the Week after gaining 122 yards on 23 carries against the Ravens. He also scored a touchdown.
Morris, a sixth-round pick out of Florida Atlantic, holds the Redskins rookie rushing record with 1228 yards and counting with three games to go.
Rookie backup quarterback Kirk Cousins may have one of the shortest stints in a game ever to be up for one of the NFL’s award. After coming into the game in the last minute to replace the injured Robert Griffin III, he threw just two passes and rushed once against the Ravens. But one of the passes was to Pierre Garçon for 11 yards and a touchdown and the run was good for a two-point conversion that sent the game into overtime.
That performance got him nominated for the GMC Never Say Never award. You can vote for him to take that from some pretty fierce competition (Nick Foles and Tony Romo) by going here.
