Before Richard Sherman got into a Twitter clash with DeAngelo Hall, he had a little chat with free agent safety Ryan Clark. He asked Clark how his visit to Redskins Park on Thursday went.
Clark seemed to be optimistic about the visit.
@RSherman_25 No doubt. It was good man. They seem to have a good plan for me. Now the money guys have to work— Ryan Clark (@Realrclark25) March 13, 2014
As is often the case, it will come down to getting the money right. Clark made $3.5 million last year and after playing almost every defensive snap of every game and making 60 tackles and picking off two passes he probably doesn’t believe that he should have to play for much less.
But he’ll turn 35 around Week 6 of the NFL season so the structure of any deal becomes very important. And that is what the “money guys” are still trying to agree upon. Although the two sides appear to be close, a deal isn’t done until it’s done. A contract could come soon or it might not ever happen.
